Dear Ethan,
Here we are, you would be 9 years old today! How is that possible? It seems like just yesterday you made me a mommy... So much in life changes yet much remains the same. Isaac will be 8 in just a few weeks and Ellie is 6 years old. They are excited to come visit your “park” and bring you your flowers and birthday cupcakes.
The years seem to be moving by more quickly but my love for you remains a constant that will never change. My beautiful boy I know that even though we only had you with us for for hello and goodbye you have changed my life forever.
You taught me to love more deeply, to cherish life, both the big and small moments. You taught me about bravery and helped me to know more about my own capacity for both love and forgiveness.
I have learned the very hard lesson of the fragility of life here on this earth and how incredibly brief and precious our time here is. Thank you sweet boy for all you have done for me. I am so grateful to be your mama.
You are forever loved by not only me but so many others.
