Many of you know that I am the coordinator for my pregnancy and infant loss support group HAND. (Helping after Neonatal Death)
We in our local chapter here in the central valley are taking part in this year's March for Babies walk!
So I am asking you all to support us in honor of Ethan, Alexis and all the other angel babies in our group as well as in support of all the miracle babies like myself ( I was born at 27 weeks!) who made it!
Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. The work done by March of Dimes for all babies both big and small is simply amazing! I'm walking in March for Babies because I want to do something to help. And I need yours as well.

8 months-Looking Forward
Well this month is proving to be a busy one for the Mishler family! Of course we continue to mark each month on the 11th and this month was no different, I went out to visit Ethan's place on the 11th and brought him his Valentine's bouquet. It was a really beautiful day so I was happy to have the chance to visit, before the wet and storms returned.
I am still shocked every time another month goes by, every time I think wow I can't believe its been __ months and it was the same for me this month. 8 months have gone by since we lost our sweet little boy. Now though I am also beginning to think about the upcoming 1 year birthday in heaven and how we want to honor our Ethan. I think that we are going to have a gathering at Ethan's resting place on his birthday June 11th for any family and friends who wish to join us. It will be around 3:00 in the afternoon. I don't have all the details worked out yet but please keep the date clear on your calendars if you wish to join us in celebrating his short but very important life.
I want to thank all the family and friends who continue to check in with us and ask about us. It means a lot to us, even though we may not tell you at the time, thank you!
We also continue to remember and give back in Ethan's memory through our local support group organization HAND (Helping After Neonatal Death) which I am so thankful for! It means so much to both of us to be able to help other families who are hurting in the same way that we hurt. We are helping families both directly and also indirectly as we begin to work with and educate health care professionals in our local hospitals about how they can help grieving families and it is such a good feeling!
8 months this month, we continue to remember and honor our little boy every chance we get. I will be writing another post tonight about how you personally can help to honor and remember Ethan and many other babies as well. Be sure to look for it!
