My Dear Ethan,
It's hard to believe as I sit here with your new little sister in my arms, barely over a week old and your little brother running around like all 2 year old boys do that it has been 3 years today that you first made me a Mommy. It is a day forever etched in my heart, the day we had to say hello and goodbye to you my beloved son. The extreme emotions of that day are ones I can never forget, such anticipation and joy followed by such immense sorrow and grief, truly more than anyone can bear. Today though I choose to celebrate your very short life by focusing on all the good that came from your life. All the other amazing angel mommies I have had the privilege of meeting since you were born as well as the amazing online support community I found in my search for how to not just survive your death but one day to be able to live again, to smile, laugh even make a joke.
There are so many things I would change if I could about that day, but being your Mommy is something I would never change and will always be grateful for. Know that you are loved every
day, missed every day as we watch your brother and sister grow up without you here with them, to laugh, tease and torture them as only a big brother can. Knowing that every milestone they reach is beautifully bittersweet because we will never get to see you do any of those things.
We love and miss you every day, even with our busy lives that continue to get crazier all the time, know that we will love you as long as we have breath on this earth until someday many years from now when we can be reunited with you and our Heavenly Father.
All our Love,
Mommy, Daddy, Isaac and Ellie
